Pre-Reading :

  • Highlight and review any words needed to achieve errorless learning. 
  • Have Learner discover and mark up words related to the lesson’s new concepts.
  • Have Learner identify/mark up phrases, punctuation, and parts of speech according to their language arts curriculum. 

Reading:

  • Learner will read aloud while simultaneously following along with their index finger. 
  • If prosody is absent or uneven, the Instructor can provide guidance for improvement and have the Learner repeat.
  • If a Learner makes an error, the Instructor uses the same correction procedures used for Decode. 
  • The Instructor may ask questions to check for comprehension.
