This blend can be used at the beginning of words or syllables and has two sounds. For now,  we will focus on the blend sound: /sk/, /sk/, /sk/, scalp.

Blend SC, followed by letters Y, I, or E, often changes to the digraph sound and says: /s/, /s/, /s/, scissors.

This will be explored in a later lesson.
